Westminster Housing Society has an active volunteer board of directors consisting of 15 persons. The board establishes policy and provides direction for future growth.
S.A.M. (Management) Inc. has been retained to look after the day-to-day administration of our properties.
S.A.M. is a non-profit corporation, which has provided management services to other non-profit, co-operative and seniors housing projects for 30+ years. S.A.M. is
responsible for collecting rent, paying administrative costs, and maintaining the financial books. It provides a maintenance staff to look after the properties and keep
them in sound repair. It provides marketing services to ensure responsible tenants, low vacancy rates, and high tenant satisfaction. S.A.M. is the bridge between the
tenant and Westminster Housing Society.
Occasionally there will be disagreements between tenants and S.A.M. Management, and when that happens, the tenants have a right to bring their complaints or differences
before a Tentant Relations Committee that is composed of about 5 or 6 members of the Board of WHS. Members of that Committee are also involved in the process of interviewing
prospective tenants to fill vacancies.
